灰枣也称为新郑灰枣,果实呈长倒卵形,果皮为橙红色,核小肉厚,吃起来比一般的红枣要甜,原产地为河南新郑,后引种于全国各地,现新疆且末等地区均有分布。

灰枣得名是因为新郑灰枣在成熟变红之前,通体发灰,好似挂了一层霜,所以得名"灰枣"。
